You've been raised...

Sometimes being a teenager and even a tween is an emotional roller coaster. This group is making it look easy. How I admire them all.  I love photographing kids, and you probably know by now, kids    who aren't cheesy smiling.. there's so much going on there beyond the smile.  Even though the smiling photo may be the one sent out to the agents and the grandmas these are the ones I think moms and dads like better, the ones where they can see the wheels turning, shining a light on that day when they'll be able to say, and I quote Maya Angelou, "you've been raised".

Fall

Well as I sit here tonight it finally feels like fall. I want things with Pumpkin in them, I'm already thinking about caroling and neighborhood Christmas pageants and I bet it's 65 degrees outside.. LOL sigh. If I lived in Texas I suppose I would get my fix at the Friday night lights experience.. Yes, yes I know we have that here, but there's something about the lack of pickup trucks and the way everyone says their "i's" that throws me off...what I wouldn't give for some of those concession stand Nachos. That's vegan right? These lovely girls belong to my latest family shoot. Welcome to Middle School. We are Adventure seekers, emotional and reflective, sparkly, and confident. We are girls with deep thoughts and even bigger dreams.
